'is there nothing good in this town?'

Back in the late 80's Washington DC band Swiz were a very popular band on the pinstand. They had just the right amount of hardcore cred and avant-garde musicianship to catch the imagination, and a cool logo. In the 90's guitarist Jason Farrell went on to a career in graphic design, and to found Bluetip. Bluetip's more sophisticated approach precedented math-rock and was well received in Europe, but perhaps a little too eclectic for the USA. In this decade we find him, looking as young as ever, living in NYC, and with a new 'post hardcore' power trio - Retisonic - that is rapidly making up that ground.. After releasing their second disc 'Return To Me' and bashing across the nation, they returned to the city for a showcase at the Knit, exploding from the getgo. The punkcast camera was there, but late, missing the opening song, the aforementioned 'Return To Me". Next one up was 'Externalized', which we give you here.

And yes i have knocked up a VCD of the show, 6 songs, for the band's management. If interested in a copy, get in touch with them or email orders@pinstand.com with the subject=VCD515, and I'll do you one for $4, subject to their approval.
