'the last bandit'

Nikki Sudden is an old pal of the pinstand. When he was in the Swell Maps he used to come by and hang out at the old Portobello Rd HQ. Thus his earlier appearance on PUNKCAST#48. This time, however, he appears through the efforts of Xiaoting Luo, a fan from China. Xiaoting, now living in NYC, was so determined to capture a visit by Nikki that she went out and bought her own camera, just to be sure. As it was, I was available as second cam. Unlike last time Nikki had no band, and played solo, acoustic. Trash, which used to be Luxx - the fancy home of electroclash - now has a decor reminiscent of a provincial fenderbender mender's yard, which well suited his wry laments. Later in the show he was joined onstage by intinerant blues troubador Alicia Strings on slide for a rocking finale.. Here we have a couple of the more poignant numbers from the heart of the set.

And yes i have knocked up a VCD, 14 songs run 45:52. Xiaoting's done a pretty good job of editing, considering it's her first effort. You can get a copy from the pinstand for $4 inc. mail ($5 foreign) - if interested email orders@pinstand.com and ask for VCD452, and I'll let you know the process.
