| Motherfucker! is an occasional NYC event, usually on holidays, that puts together the Brooklyn/Lower East Side scene with the west side club kids in some or other big space, which is always jammed to the max.
I had eagerly anticipated this one, as !!! were playing, and the only other time i tried on them recently, at Halloween, they dressed in black skeleton outfits and played under black light leaving nothing to vid. However when it came to it, emotionally hungover from Valentine's the day before, perhaps, I got distracted on the way in, and they played their last note just as I arrived.. So as not to make the evening a complete wash I headed to the other room where the Crazy Rhythms crew were having fun running the monster sound system and started shooting. Crazy Rhythms is Dan Selzer, prop, of Acute Records, affable caretaker of the nyhappenings list, and his buddy Mike Simonetti aka Mr.Troubleman Unlimited . Dan's passion for the dancier end of post-punk is a pillar of the NYC scene, while Mike is a bit of a loose cannon - with a strong affinity for classic soul, funk, and hiphop, he likes a good freakout. So, when the two of them get together as Crazy Rhythms a good time is pretty much guaranteed, even without the aforementioned monster sound system and wall to wall crowd.. Although they normally tag-team, the clip has both going at once, mixing The Rapture's 'House Of Jealous Lovers' into god-knows-what.

| And yes i have knocked up a VCD, it's what i shot uncut. I basically took the changeovers, and a bit more when things got interesting, They were already on their second wind as I didn't start filming til 1:15am or so. It was too dark to get a good shot of the three chinese girls making out next to the booth, sorry to say. There's also an occasional agonizing wait for the next record to kick in, heh.
