'It's not expensive, and it's good.'

Value for money seems to be a concern of Holland's Bettie Serveert. The quote was from guitarist Peter Zisser, pushing the band's new CD - 'Wide Eyed Fools' on Hidden Agenda Records. And they certainly delivered live, playing for over 90 minutes at Southpaw. Their brand of intelligent dream-pop is tailor-made for the Park Slope crowd, and they were adored. While singer Carol Van Dijk held our attention, occasionally songs would turn into long instrumental mood pieces. At other the times they rocked out. The two clips you have here are from the dreamier side and both from the encore.

And yes i have knocked up a VCD of the show, obviously I had to cut out a couple of songs to fit. 12 songs. Sound is good. The light, as is Southpaw's wont, was very red. You can get a copy from the pinstand for $4 inc. mail ($5 foreign) - if interested email orders@pinstand.com with the subject=VCD340, and I'll let you know the process. Or just paypal straight in at that same address.
