Summer of Music & Art - SOMA - sounds like summer in germany. The music in effect, art surrounding, summer a bit shy but at times strong sun and light nite showers, vibes family style. It was a 3 day festival in Koln. I was lucky enough 2b in Koln mixin up arboretumNYC images 4 the Basswerk "jungle summer" crew at the G9 which was a hop away from the festival grounds. The night of the 10th we checked out the air, things where just warming up, vegan stir-fry and bonfires. The following day was Zion Train and Iration Steppas. The sky had opened up and the sun was strong for this dub sound clash with DJ perch and Marc Iration surrounded by trees and the River Rhine flowin along side. The following night, which this punkcast features, the Zion Train Full Crew took the main stage at dusk. The toaster - Johno from Manchester dubbers Nucleus Roots - worked to get this bubba cool crowd moving, which took some effort. The ZT crew were in their steppers/dub sound zone. The brass section, the Crispy Horns, were sharp. DJ Perch was on form. Guitarist Marcus Campbell was deliverin' the riffs. The moment the electro/trance/house sounds of the Zion perked up - the crowd began to positively shake.
