| Wednesday 'rock nights' at Spa are a happening affair, recalling Tommy Gunn's glory days in the same room when it was known as the Cat Club. This particular Wednesday fell in some kind of fashion week, and the night was a party launching the Riot Games issue of Vice magazine. It featured a line-up of electroclash contenders, topped by the Yeahs Yeah Yeahs. There was a line around the block as I got there around 11pm. Inside the club was pumping to punk disco. I was in good time to catch a stylish couple called Hong Kong Counterfeit. When the YYY's hit, the rock crowd, subjected to lines and hours of synths, went nuts. Karen O. took the opportunity to make her own fashion satement. |
